February Fun!

Here are some more activities we did during the month of February...

1) Heart Shaped Lacing Cards: To hold our many cards and goodies, the kids laced together two large card stock hearts. This lacing activity gave them extra fine motor practice while also allowing room for artistic expression and creativity. After lacing, the kids decorated their card holders using various media.

2) Conversation Heart Activities: Throughout the week, the children used the popular Brach's Converation Hearts to pattern, sort, and graph. Here is a picture of our graphing activity. Not pictured are our ABB patterns. We also used these candies for our alphabet books (Hh is for hearts).

3) Healthy Hearts & Teeth: February is dental health month. We also focused on keeping a healthy heart. Activities included sorting healthy/unhealthy foods, toothbrush paintings, "Mr. Big Mouth", brushing soda-soaked "teeth", and various other activities.
4) Sensory Play:

The kids used various heart shaped media such as doilies, a toilet paper roll bent into a heart shape, and sponges to create beautiful collages. They noticed that hearts are symmetrical!

Chocolate Play Doh and Rose Scented Play Doh were some of our favorite sensory activities! The kids LOVED playing chocolate shop! Not pictured is a wonderful Rose Scented Play Doh we created as well.

Our sensory bin was filled with various Valentine's Day items. The children used chopsticks and various other tools to collect and play.

6) Cooking Chocolate Lollipops

7) Chinese New Year Parade & Celebration

Excuse the messy layout for now...I'm still learning how to use this!
